elerGreen Industry is a cleantech startup to recover valuable polymers, metals and chemicals from chemical waste and renewable electricity, in economic and eco-friendly way. Towards business customers, waste valorization includes mine tailings recovery, where toxic heavy metal ions in their tailings is converted into solid metals with resaleable values. elerGreen’s unique moving electrode technology seeks to electrochemically convert heavy metal wastes into valuable metals, as a more energy-efficient and scalable alternative in mining and metallurgy industry.
Waste valorization also includes conversion of toxic ethylene glycol (causing neurological damage, vomiting and death) in paint sludge and spent antifreeze, into harmless polyethylene glycol that has industrial and medical uses. The solution is further unique for its flexible design to retrofit existing facilities, while its modular device assembly allows scaling up.
Towards mass consumers, the products are more competitive for lower price besides being eco-friendly. An example is compostable polymer production, of polyglycolic acid for food packaging, to be produced electrochemically at much lower cost than non-electrochemical means.
Beyond technological innovations, elerGreen utilizes business model innovation, known as Collaborative Sales.
