At Taste Detours, we want to share our love of local flavours by pointing out the links between our rural food heritage and the growers and makers of today. This region has deep agricultural roots, so food – healthy, fresh food – comes naturally to us.
All of our experiences harness the power of storytelling. We aim to celebrate this legacy by uncovering the stories found within small towns and mid-sized cities — offering the opportunity to learn some little-known lore of the area and to hear directly from (and be fed by!) local food and drink purveyors themselves. Unique, independent locales where you have to dig a bit deeper to unearth a true “taste of place”.
We want to stir your love of exploration, feed your curiosity, and facilitate connections. Connections made between these innovative restaurateurs, chefs, farmers, brewers, cheesemakers, bakers, and their use of the surrounding agriculture. Connections between each other too, simply by simply slowing down and breaking bread together. We’re quite literally telling the stories of the people and the places through food and drink.
